Computers are one of the marvels of our modern technical age, a now common-place, almost essential and increasingly powerful tool that can help us in so many ways at home as well as at work. 

But when did anyone teach us how to use them and the services they provide? When did we get taught to understand the concepts beneath their design, the tools and the new language they come with, that will enable us to work out for ourselves how to do new things or find a better way?
